Siddartha

Siddartha

I liked this book written by Herman Hesse in the 1920's.

It is about the life of a man called Siddhartha who renounces the material life in ancient India in order to learn to contemplate and achieve perfection. Siddartha is a character who suffers an existential crisis and decides to leave home in order to live new experiences.

The part I liked the most was that when Siddhartha meets Kamala because that's where he begins a trip to carnal pleasures, like many human beings. I remembered Jesus' human side and his relationship with Mary Magdalene. At the end, Vasudeva shares with Siddartha lots of learning, despite the fact that he is a just a peasant.

The style of this novel is fluid. I assign it 4.5 out of 5 possible popcorn.
